Le Diner en Blanc~Indy

These days there seems to be so much more than corn in Indiana! To end the summer Dîner en Blanc made its way through Indianapolis! Yes, this is a big deal! Have you ever been included in a flash mob? Me either! Basically #DEB is a flash mob style pop up diner party! There are so many moving pieces but once together it is an awesome concept! Honestly, I am thinking of doing something like this for my birthday or maybe my husbands birthday! A few years ago I attended Yelp’s White Party and had a great experience! With #DEB you register, hope to get an invite and then you are told a secret location the day of. Oh and you also have to bring everything you need for a fab dinner party!

For me, getting an invite didn’t go as smooth as my night! Once information was given via social media I registered. Unfortunately, phase I came and went. The same with phase II.  I began thinking maybe I am not going to get an invite! Towards the end of phase II a longtime girlfriend of mine was able to sponsor a friend (me) and BOOM I was in! I was so excited but then annoyed when I found out that in addition to having to find something white, bring food and drinks, I also had to provide my own table and chairs (rolls eyes). Luckily my girlfriend told me about a party rental place (here) that could provide everything for under $19!

Now that my rentals were taken care of I began to search for the perfect over the top outfit! This task was way more difficult than I thought it would be! Everything I found was super cute but super expensive or ivory! More than likely I wouldn’t wear this outfit more than once, maybe twice, so I decided that less is more!  I found a simple baby doll style dress (here) that I knew I could dress up with a fab headpiece, white boots (here) and jewelry. Unfortunately, the dress arrived and looked like a huge blanket with elastic sleeves and the boots were not my favorite either! I was so disappointed. I then settled on this dress that I snapped for $9.99 clearance with 50% off (here) and these cute studded shoes and purse apart of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for the low low! .(here) and (here) I decided I’d focus more on having good time that what I was wearing.

As I mentioned before you have to bring everything! Here is my Amazon wish list of items that I used for the night. In addition, I also got some white and silver trinkets from the Dollar Tree to use for my table decor.

The night of was such a mystery! We loaded a bus at our designated pickup spot and we were off! My mind was racing hoping that I remembered everything especially after returning home twice! Then wondering where possibly we were going for a pop up party that we would be able to be out by dusk with no trace that we were ever there.

After a short bus ride, we finally arrived at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway home of the Indy 500! After carrying all out stuff inside, setting up the table, waving our white napkins to start dinner and logging sparklers to begin dancing the night went a little like this…

Beautiful ballerinas dancing & a marching band singing & dancing New Orleans style kicked off the party! Then the DJ went all the way in playing some of the best James from Cardi B to Frankie Beverly & Maze! If by chance #DEB comes through your city, GO! And if not, register for your favorite city or find a random city/country you’ve never visited and GO!

Thanks for traveling along!

XoXo

Oh, let me not forget to mention my cousin Jennifer @A_DetailedParty (instagram) who assisted with ideas and inspiration along the way.
